INSTALL GUIDE FOR PS JAILBREAK

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3.41 firmware must be installed on the console *Please Note: If you want to increase the size of your internal hard drive make sure to do it before upgrading to 3.41
Backup Manager and copy it to any external USB storage device formatted with FAT32.

OPERATION:

1. The console MUST be fully OFF (NOT in STANDBY mode) before connecting the USB PS Jailbreak. Depending on the console version you MUST:

PlayStation 3 *.- FAT. Just turn off the console from the rear switch.
PlayStation 3 *.- SLIM. It is essential to disconnect the power cord from the back of the console.

Connect PS Jailbreak to any USB port on the console, taking care not to have anything else connected by USB.

2. Press the POWER button on the console and then pressed the EJECT button. You will see the two LEDs on the PS Jailbreak illuminate while powering ON the console (10 seconds), then one of several things can happen:

- The Green LED is lit. This means that the PS Jailbreak is working properly.

- The Red LED is lit. This means that the PS has not loaded correctly Jailbreak. Usually this happens when not properly pressed Power sequence and then Eject.

- If the end result is the bright Red LED, we repeat the process from the beginning with the precaution of disconnecting the power cord from the back of the PlayStation 3 Slim or cut the current from the switch at the back of the PlayStation 3 Fat.

3. Once PS Jailbreak the device is loaded correctly, connect the USB external storage device with the Backup Manager to the console.

4. Go to the GAME menu and then to the option “Install Package Files”, select Backup Manager.

5. Once install is completed at the end of the Games menu “Backup Application Manager” will appear. Select it and run.

6. Once implemented, navigate to the console the game we want to backup. If we make a backup on the external USB device(Max. 4Gb game), press the button O. You can select the destination of backup, and you can select from the USB external storage device or even the internal Hard Drive of the console.

7. To load previously created backup game simply insert any PS3 game disc (you can use the same game) and from the Backup Manager menu select the desired backup and press the X button. You can also delete backup by pressing Triangle.

The reason to have a game inserted in the drive of the console is simply to emulate the loading process.

8. After selecting the backup you want press the X button, automatically returning to the main menu of the console and finally loading the game, just scroll up once to see the desired game loaded. Then select and start, we can play our backup!

* Official PS JailBreak Easy Start-Up Instructions:

1. Backup Manager and copy onto any standard FAT32 formatted USB flash drive

2. Power off your console (For Fat model you can flick power switch in the back. For slim you must unplug power cable and re-plug out of back of console).

3. Insert PS Jailbreak into your consoles USB port (you should have nothing else plugged in)

4. Press power button on console, release power button and then immediately press the eject button (You will then see two lights while the console loads. If the light turns green then that means PS Jailbreak is working,if it turns red then that means you did not press power/eject in a quick enough sequence. If you see red light please un-plug your console from the wall and begin step 4 over again).

5. Insert USB key with backup manager downloaded on it.

6. On main system menu go to “Game”, then “Install Package Files”, and click to install Backup Manager.

7. Scroll down game menu and you will see Backup Manager application, please click on it

8. Insert your licensed game that you would like to backup into the drive, if you wish to backup to an external hard drive please insert it now. Click O button to backup game. You will be asked if you would like to backup to external hard drive (by clicking no it will ask you to backup to internal hard drive).

9. To load a backup game please insert any game into the drive (You can have any real PS3 game in the drive, but you must leave 1 game in the drive to access your 100′s of backups. This ensures reliability in the game loading process). Now choose the game you would like to load with Backup Manager highlighted. Scroll up 1 and you will see the chosen game that you have loaded from Backup Manager.

Hack PlayStation 3

Open Source PS JailBreak Clone “PSGroove” Available Now!

Updates at the bottom…

Maybe, it’s a possibility, perhaps, conceivably it could happen next week, but that’s just speculation; in other words, nothing is set in stone. Mathieulh and the crew are working on it and the plan: bring the PS JailBreak code to github so others can contribute. And with that code compiled one could even flash it to a Teensy++ USB Development Board ($24) or an AT90USBKEY ($31). Yessir — a do-it-yourself PS3 hack without breaking the bank — that’s what I’m talking about.

If you’re thinking about the Teensy++ board you may want to act fast. From their website:

Update, Tuesday, Aug 31, 5:41 PM: We have received a higher than usual volume of orders for this item, and we’re working to ship orders as quickly as possible. Current wait time is approximately 2 days. As of Tuesday 5:41PM these boards ARE IN STOCK. We have enough inventory to fill all pending orders! If we do run out due to high demand, we expect to have more available in approximately 2 weeks, and we will fill any backorders in the order they were received. If you want one of these boards, your best bet is to place an order now. Please understand PJRC is a small company and we are currently running about 2 days to fill orders, though we’re hoping to fully catch up soon!

I hope everyone understands too: PS JailBreak isn’t just about backups, in fact, that’s not even its actual purpose. “PS JailBreak” means unsigned code on the PS3, and that means emulators and other real cool shit. We’ll keep you updated — Twitter too.

Update: I just ordered 10 of these Teensy++ boards. One for me and the rest we’re going to give away in an upcoming contest. Check back for that.

Update: Cloned and open-sourced before distributors get their overpriced versions out. That’s right, all the code that makes PS JailBreak what it is, is now up for grabs. Take a look right here. What next? Get yourself a Teensy++ board and get your PS Groove on. Documentation, guides, how-tos, etc. will follow.

From the PS Groove README:

This is the PSGroove, an open-source reimplementation of the psjailbreak exploit for AT90USB and related microcontrollers.

It should work on:

* AT90USB162
* AT90USB646
* AT90USB647
* AT90USB1286
* AT90USB1287
* ATMEGA32U4
* …and maybe more.

This software is not intended to enable piracy, and such features have been disabled. This software is intended to allow the execution of unsigned third-party apps and games on the PS3.

Read the full README.

And if you’re not already, get following Mathieulh and RichDevX. Two devs behind PSGroove.

Update: I’ve compiled PS Groove for you — grab it right here. This is the version without Backup Manager support, and it goes untested. When our boards arrive and we’re able to test, we’ll write up a user-friendly tutorial for you.

Update: Someone just emailed in a modified “descriptor.h” that apparently enables Backup Manager support. I’ve compiled that for you too. Again, it goes untested.

Update: I’ve added PS JailBreak’s Backup Manager to our PS3 downloads — it’s the app that allows you to create & load PS3 backups. Install using PS JailBreak or the version of PS Groove that supports it.

Update: If you haven’t already noticed, PJRC is sold out of Teensy++ boards. What did you expect? But! If you have a [hacked] PSP then you’re laughing because Mathieulh has confirmed that this code can, and likely will, be ported to the PSP. Hacking your PS3 with your hacked PSP — who would’ve thought.

Update: No PSP? Didn’t get to order a Teensy++ board early enough? Don’t stress it — because like I said above we ordered 10 and that means we have 9 to giveaway. Want one? Shits real simple… Follow us on Twitter and retweet (RT) this tweet. First 9 to do that and email admin at dashhacks with a dot com confirming your twitter name get ‘em. P.S. Like Dashhacks on Facebook too.

Update: And they’re gone… All 9 Teensy++ boards are claimed. Thanks for playing. If you don’t get a response it means you were too late

Pokemon Heart Gold Version "IVs training"

A much more complicated dynamic value are Individual Values, or IVs. Unlike its
counterpart (EVs), these are determined the moment you get your Pokemon, and
are pretty much what differentiates two Pokemon of the same species, and even
of the same gender, ability and nature.

IVs are six different values determined for the six main stats - HP, Attack,
Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed. They range from 0 to 31,
and the higher they are, the higher the base and maximum number a Pokemon's
stat may be.

Granted that you should aim for a Pokemon with an IV of 31 for all six stats,
but that might not be a case for several Pokemon. IVs are also the values
that determine the type and power of a move called Hidden Power. I do not know
how exactly you determine this, so look in another guide.

One other thing is that it is very, VERY unlikely for your Pokemon to have an
IV of 31 for all stats, let alone have an IV of 31 for one stat (and even if it
did, it may not be your desired stat), so it is extremely hard to breed for the
perfect IVs. Several IV breeders take months to get ONE perfect Pokemon, so it
is really dependent on luck.

There are two ways to influence the IVs of a Pokemon, and both of them involve
breeding, although one of them is merely a subproduct of the other, and was
introduced in HG/SS.

Whenever you breed a Pokemon, it inherits three of the twelve IVs from both
parents.

A bonus in HG/SS utilizes the six Power Items [Power Anklet, Power Band, Power
Belt, Power Bracer, Power Lens and Power Weight]. If either parent holds any
of these six items, their offspring will inherit a certain IV of their parent,
dependent on the Power Item held. To know which stat is inherited, refer to
the table with the Power Items on Section 3.3. The stat they affect corresponds
to the stat inherited by the offspring.

This means that you can ensure 2 IVs of the offspring, assuming that you know
the IVs of both parents. Both parents holding a Power item, though, means that
one cannot use the Everstone bonus to influence the offspring's ability, so
choose wisely.

To know the IVs of your Pokemon, it is best to resort to an online IV
Calculator. Serebii has one, but I'm pretty sure many sites have their own, so
pick one of your preference. IVs become more accurate if the Pokemon's level is
higher, so level-up your Pokemon should you want it exact. Should you only want
a range, 20-30 is already a pretty good level to find that out.

Oh, and as an extra bonus - introduced in Diamond and Pearl is a value called a
Characteristic. This tells you what the highest IV of a Pokemon is, which is
really helpful and a quick way to tell if your Pokemon has good IVs or not. It
does not give you exact values, though, so you should still resort to IV
calculators for that.

Here are the characteristics and the possible values that they imply. Note that
whatever value they imply is the highest value, so a single-digit IV could be
your highest one, which means you're really unlucky.

Tom Clancy's HAWX

Transformers: War for Cybertron[PlayStation 3/Xbox 360]

Transformers.
